Scope an app that is ready for real use
For customer booking, ordering or staff workflows where a mobile app adds value beyond a responsive website. Define the first release around a small set of complete journeys.
Choose the platform deliberately
Compare a responsive website, a shared iOS/Android codebase and platform-specific development. Camera, location, offline use and device integration can change the choice; confirm them in a prototype.
Specify backend dependencies
Map accounts, permissions, booking or ordering APIs, notifications and payment providers. For offline use, define what stays on the device and how conflicting updates are resolved when it reconnects.
Set acceptance criteria
Test Arabic RTL and English LTR journeys, slow networks, interrupted payments, login recovery and accessibility on agreed devices. Decide which crash, performance and task-completion checks must pass before release.
Allow for store review
A schedule depends on approved designs, backend readiness, developer accounts, privacy information and external review. Store approval and its timing are controlled by Apple and Google, so treat submission and approval as separate milestones.
Make handover explicit
Agree delivery of source, build instructions, account access and operational documentation. Store listings should sit under the client’s developer accounts. Budget separately for developer fees, hosting, third-party services and maintenance.
